Matthew Heller a pianist and songwriter from Portland Or. has gracefully emerged with his self-titled “Matthew Heller” album with eight inspiring songs surrounding his life, family and friends. He will be guest appearing on KZME and KMHD2 presenting Hello Cruel World with Matthew Heller – July 7th,  exact time TBA. For more info check out the KZME world blog. He also will be performing at the Branx with Fatha Green, Friday July 27th show starting at 9pm. When asked where his inspiration came from it was clear this songwriter knows how to write with expression and creativity. Here is what he had to say in response.”Living in Brooklyn and The Mission and Chicago South Loop really helped me understand what it means to be a songwriter; to me it means addressing the struggles of people and our place in the world, I believe that addressing myself and my privilege is a part of that and I think it shows through on this album. As far as any insight into my self titled record, or goals I have, I just wanted to create ROCK for my friends and family and people who really care about the craft of songwriting. I wanted to write songs about the people in my life that were important to me, and that is what my self titled album represents in it’s abstract”.
