Knowledge of how to make a small business succeed is the number one key to the future of Africa’s economic development. Basic business education in elementary principles of product and busines planning, saving, investment, marketing, hiring more helpers, and customer service are essential to using microfinance loans in Africa. Seattle University’s Christina Davis built a ground breaking program in Malawi for teaching small business owners how to create, sustain and grow small business. The curriculum can be used nationally and throughout Africa in conjunction with American University Business Schools under the leadership of Seattle University and international NGO Lifenet’s pilot projects.
