Hailing from Silverton, OR Kevin Asman (MuhatmaGumbo), front man, guitarist and songwriter, whether singing cover tunes or his own music, his voice is what you will remember. A voice that you would not expect to come out of a skinny white guy. Here we come closer to Portland Or……Oregon City the “Funk Bus” will be arriving, with Tongue & Groove aboard….We gonna celebrate our live music calendar date July 20th, 9 pm . I’m turning 50th and what better way to do that Than at The Trails End with my friends….ready your danc’n shoes, and get ready to shake sump’n loose. Ha! “See ya round cause square don’t roll! “Gumbo”. The music is a Gumbo soup of styles, genres, and a whole lotta Groove. Poured out from Gumbo’s Heart, Soul and Mind, telling stories through real life experiences, and through observations of society, and of his own life. Taking songs from all era’s and styles of music and making it their own. Whether your 12 or 90 years of age, Tongue & Groove is bound to play something that will get your feet moving given name is Kevin Asman, but my friends call me “Muhatma Gumbo.” I am a singer, songwriter, musician. I’ve been hard at it for 40 years. My main instrument is guitar, but I play bass, trumpet, flugal horn, drums, piano, and clarinet. These days I’m about spreading Love and Kindness through actions and my music. Music is the medicine for the soul.
