Danny Brown returns to Detroit
Indie hip-hop star Danny Brown will return for a sure-to-be-triumphant hometown show at the Fillmore, opening for Childish Gambino on Tuesday, March 27 at 6:30 p.m.
Tickets go on sale this Friday (Dec. 9) for the all-ages event and are priced at $25 — the presale launches tomorrow at noon. Pick up your pair at Live Nation or Ticketmaster websites.
After releasing his “XXX” mixtape this summer, Danny Brown has been the subject of major media hype in SPIN, Rolling Stone and XXL. He hasn’t performed in Detroit since a headlining SXSW send-off show at the Shelter in March and an opening spot this summer for Das Racist.
Brown’s pairing with Childish Gambino (born Donald Glover) is an inspired choice. TV fans know Gambino for his acting work on NBC’s “Community” (starring Joel McHale and Chevy Chase). He’s also a former writer for 30 Rock and The Daily Show who performed a well-received stand-up special on Comedy Central.
